Abstract

This study aimed to analyze consumer behavior and attitudes toward personalized product recommendation systems in Thailand’s e-commerce sector, as well as to examine factors influencing consumer satisfaction and purchase intention. The study applied the concept of attitude components from the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), together with the Technology Acceptance Model, to examine behavioral intention. A quantitative research approach was employed by collecting data from 412 Thai consumers aged 18 years and above who had experience purchasing products online through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings revealed that Thai consumers regularly purchased products through e-commerce and had moderately to highly positive attitudes toward personalized product recommendation systems, particularly in terms of perceived usefulness and recommendation quality. The findings also showed that perceived usefulness and recommendation quality had statistically significant positive effects on consumer satisfaction, whereas trust and privacy concerns had no statistically significant effects on satisfaction. In addition, consumer satisfaction had a positive effect on purchase intention. Regarding demographic factors, gender significantly affected the level of satisfaction with personalized product recommendation systems, whereas age, educational level, occupation, and average monthly income did not result in statistically significant differences. The findings indicate that developing personalized product recommendation systems that are accurate, reliable, and responsive to users’ needs plays an important role in enhancing consumer satisfaction and purchase intention among Thai consumers. Therefore, e-commerce businesses should focus on improving the quality of recommendation systems while promoting transparency in personal data protection to enhance user experience and competitiveness in Thailand’s digital market.
