VISUAL ANALYSIS ON THE CURRENT SITUATION AND REGIONAL DISPARITIES OF TOURISM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN YUNNAN PROVINCE

With the implementation of the "Strong Tourism Province" strategy, Yunnan's tourism economy has grown continuously, with tourism revenue and tourist arrivals reaching new peaks. However, significant spatial disparities and structural imbalances exist across its 16 regions. Using panel data from 2010 to 2023, this paper constructs an indicator system covering economic output, cultural resources, and transportation infrastructure. Through visualization, the study analyzes Yunnan's tourism development status and regional disparity characteristics. The findings show that while overall tourism volume grows steadily, regional development gaps are significant and widening-Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang remain high-development zones, while Nujiang, Diqing, and Dehong are relatively underdeveloped. Using K-means clustering, the paper classifies regions into three types and proposes targeted policy recommendations. The results provide empirical evidence for differentiated tourism strategies and a reference for coordinated regional tourism development.
