A Study of States, Problems and Guidelines in Using Information for the Internal Quality Assurance of the Schools under the Office of Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area 3

Abstract

The research aimed to study the states and problems in using information for the internal quality assurance of the schools under the Office of Ubon Rachthani Primary Educational Service Area 3,  to compare the states and problems found as classified by the positions and the school size, and to investigate the guidelines for the development of information for the internal quality assurance. The samples used in the research were derived by a stratified sampling as classified by the school size, the administrators , and teachers responsible for the internal quality assurance. The sample size was determined by Krejcie and Morgan’s table. A total of 202 subjects were used in the research. The research instruments were a questionnaire and an interview having a confidence value equivalent to .98. Statistics were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and variance analysis.

            The research findings were as follows.

1. Concerning the use of information for the internal quality assurance in the primary schools under Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area 3,  it was found that the states were found at a very good level. The problems related to the use of information for the quality assurance were at a low level.


2. Based on a comparison of the problems and states in using information for the internal quality assurance, it was found that there was no difference between the school administrators and the teachers responsible for the internal quality assurance. As regards the use of information, there was a difference with a statistical significance of 0.05.


3. The guidelines for developing the use of information for the internal quality assurance were as follows. The personnel directly responsible for the quality assurance should be recruited. A workshop on the internal quality assurance should be held for those responsible for the task. Supervision, and follow-up of those responsible should be conducted at least once in a semester. Policies and plans on the internal quality assurance should be clearly made so that the development would be improved and the quality would be accredited.
