Abstract

Research is a method used to study and understand the phenomena by utilizing scientific principles and methods to describe, explain, and predict phenomena that have not yet answers or unsatisfied answers. Phenomenon descriptions are fundamental goals of researches and predictions are the ultimate goals, while correlational researches are somewhere in between researches for descriptions and researches for predictions. So, the author considers correlational research as a crucial step of studying and understanding of the phenomena, from description to prediction.  However, there are some misunderstandings related to correlational research, which lead to write this article aiming to clarify the concept of correlational research on the aspects of definition, methods, and interpretation of the findings.
