Abstract

Investigating the virus with rapid COVID-19 testing kits is the most widely practiced method today to identify an infected person and to take further action in treating and controlling the outbreak. However, the less-understood issue is whether the people properly collect the secretions. There are test kits that suggest secretion storage at different locations and the assays that are recommended for collection of secretions at different locations and widely available in the market are similar or different in each, especially with regard to efficacy. In addition, there are still many of questions that do not have clear answers. This review article addresses the aforementioned issues to raise questions for society and researchers to create answers for humanity.
