A Comparative Study of the Country Songs of Thai and Laos Literature: An Analysis the Figure of Speech and Social of Image Reflection

Abstract

          The objective of this research was to analyze and compare the social image and reflection in Thai and Lao country song between in 1957 and 1977. The songs were selected from 159 song that sang by 5 Thai male singers and 5 Lao male ingers. The research used the similar and different concept to analyze the social images and reflections in Thai and Lao country song. 

          The results of this research was: The social image and reflection that appeared in Thai and Lao country song were similar more than different in every way. Especially, the most similar in social image was simile, metaphor, and antithesis. The least similar in social image was hyperbole, metonymy, personification, onomatopoeia, and symbol. The similar was appeared in Thai country but not appeared in Lao country. The most similar in social refection was ways of life, cultures, belief and tradition. The least similar in social refection was occupations. The values and educational refection were appeared in Thai country but not appeared in Lao country because. Thai and Lao people were close with race, language, religion, belief, and traditions history and territory. And they were different with political factors, war, and immigration.
