The Development of Tie-Die Fabric Art Learning by Implementing Art-Based Teaching Model to Promote Creativity of Grade 6 Students

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were 1) to study the learning process of the art of tie-dye fabric and 2) to study the results of tie-die fabric learning by implementing art-based teaching model to promote students' creativity. This research is the research and development. The data was collected by interviewing 3 community scholars, 5 teachers who were teaching Arts in primary education schools in Loei province, and 35 students in grade 6 at Ban NaOr School, Loei Province. The data analysis focused on interpreting to create learning concepts obtained from a behavioral observation of students' learning. Then, there were content analysis and criticism regarding the occurring conditions.

          The results were reported in descriptive presentation for summarizing. The results of the research showed that the development of tie-die learning processes by implementing art-based teaching model to promote creativity of Grade 6 students comprised: conceptual framework and principles, learning objectives, 3) conditions, 4) learning activities, 5) learning activity preparation, 6) elements of tie-die fabric learning activity to promote creativity, and 7) roles of teachers and students.

          The tie-die fabric learning results by implementing art-based teaching model to promote creativity of Grade 6 students showed that the scores of all 4 aspects creativities of students after learning were higher than before learning with the model with statistical significance at 0.01 level. In addition, the students' learning achievement scores passed the preset criteria.
