Usage of The Big Books to Develop Thai Language Reading Skills for Prathomsuksa 2 Karen Students of Ban Pui School, Hod District, Chiang Mai
The purposes of this study were 1) to test Big Book efficiency using 80/80 (E1/E2) standard on developing Thai reading of Prathom 2 Karen students from Baan Pui School, Hod district, Chiang Mai province, 2) to examine the achievement results of Thai reading after using Big Book with 80 percent standard of the criteria 3) To find out the students' satisfaction on using Big Book. The population was 26 Prathom 2 students of second semester, academic year 2014 from Baan Pui School, Hod district, Chiang Mai Province. The employed research instruments were 18 sets of post-test, post-reading evaluation form and the studentsง satisfaction test on the use of Big Book reading. The results of the study were as follows: 1) The result of Big Book efficiency was at 85.00/85.42 (E1/E2) which was higher than the standard at 80/80(E1 /E2). The score during learning was at 85.00 percent while post-learning was 85.42 percent. These results matched the hypothesis. 2) The results of Big Book post-reading were higher than the standard which is 80 percent. The result of post test was at 85.00 percent while the studentsง comprehension on reading was at 86.00 percent. 3)The result on the studentsง satisfaction was in good level ( = 3.90 ,σ = 0.10)Downloads
