WESTERN MUSICAL IDENTITY OF THE ROYAL THAI AIR FORCE MUSIC DIVISION

Abstract

The aims of this thesis were to (1) study the western music background and progress of Royal Thai Air Force Music Division; (2) study the western music identity of Royal Thai Air Force Music Division. It was the qualitative research by using field information collecting at Royal Thai Air Force Music Division, Srikan District, Donmueng, Bangkok, information from papers, interview, observation and synthesis. It was presented by descriptive statistic. 1) The result of the thesis revealed that Royal Thai Air Force Music Division background took place in 1937-2022. The researcher sorted it in three ages as for instance; (1) Primary Age in 1973; (2) Developing Age in 1995-2018 and (3) Contemporary Age in 2019 - 2022 including Royal Thai Air Force School education system to study, analyze, synthesis for showing that background and progress of Royal Thai Air Force Music Division. 2) The western music identity of Royal Thai Air Force Music Division was as follow the important songs that there were more 200 important songs in Royal Thai Air Force Music Division but the researcher selected five songs to analyze that were as follows: (1) Dao Phra Suk, (2) Sri Ayutthaya, (3) Ban Rai Na Rao, (4) Maharat Jom Siam and (5) Chaipattana. They were analyzed to show the background and outstanding authors of Royal Thai Air Force Music Division. Moreover, it shown the important of Phra Chen Duriyang, a father of Royal Thai Air Force who developed Western music for a better until now.
