Teacher Development Strategies to Enhance Moral Desirable Characteristics (Discipline) of Sawang Daendin School Students

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to study the current state of developing teachers and the needs of developing 2) to present the results of using the strategies for developing teachers to enhance desirable characteristics students’ morality and discipline of Sawang Daen Din school. The tools of the study were the assessment form of appropriateness and possibility of strategy proposal, questionnaire, and satisfactory assessment form. The sample groups were the head of the school academic department, the head of all departments, 25 teachers of the social studies department, the academic expert, and 14stakeholders. Statistical analysis used to analyze the data were frequency and standard deviation. The research findings show that the current state of developing teachers to enhance desirable characteristics of students’ morality and discipline of Sawang Daen Din school was at a moderate level (x = 3.36) and the need for developing was 0.27.
The strategies for developing teachers to enhance desirable characteristics of students comprised 4 mainstrategiesnamely (1) the enhancing of desirable characteristics of students in the aspect of awareness of being citizenship, moral competency, and the public mind by using 4 strategies as follow: 1) Emphasizingontheorganization 2) Emphasizing on teacher’s roles 3) Emphasizing on the lecturers, and 4) Emphasizing on being a good pattern and empowering students. Teachers were satisfied with the strategies for developing teachers to enhance desirable characteristics of students’ morality and discipline of Sawang Daen Din school at a high level (x =4.33).
