Abstract

This survey research aimed to study factors affecting the decision to study in Program in Communication Arts (Trilingual), Faculty of Communication Arts, Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University to the gender, age, class level, major, family income per month, brothers and sisters are studying and current residences. The sample of the study was 351 high school students in Chanthaburi Province in the 2020 academic year. Use purposive sampling by selecting a specific school in Mueang Chanthaburi District, as the largest number of high school students. The size of the samples was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan Table. Analysis of data for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation. The results showed that Factors affecting the decision to study in Program in Communication Arts (Trilingual), Faculty of Communication Arts, Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, is divided into 4 factors as follows: 1. Curriculum factors; First of all, found that the factors could support the students’ advancement in the future. Secondly, it could meet the businesses’ requirements and respond to the skills and capabilities of the students and the students’ decision of their further studies. Finally, it is consistent with the family business. 2. Educational purpose factors; we found that the first factor in the study was that need educators to study academic knowledge and to learn more about this field. Want to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in this field, and the last factor is to be knowledgeable. 3. Reputation and the role of the university factors; it found that the university had adequately allocated scholarships to students, the most effective factor, and then the standard and ready to manage education. The final factor is that the university’s alumni are well-known and socially recognized individuals. 4. Course publicity factors; found that students first knew the news of the admissions from the school’s guidance teachers, the various aspects of the course were thoroughly promoted, the guidance was in conjunction with the university in the recruitment of students, quotas, and direct admissions, the brochure, the course's publicity leaflet was clear, and the final factor was the news of the course's publicity. Recruiting from friends, seniors, relatives, and acquaintances Based on the findings, the most important factor is the reputation and role of the university, the second is the educational purpose factor, the course publicity factor, and the last one is the curriculum factor.
