Abstract

The article reviews English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, materials, and the roles of ESL materials development at Victoria University of Technology, Footscray, Nicholson Street Campus (VU FN) in Melbourne, Australia. The main focus is on two ESL courses: Certificate 1 Access ESL and VCE Year 12 ESL group D. The advantages of materials development for the teaching and learning are also disscussed.
