Abstract

A Thai particle is a part of Thai language which appears in the last position of any word enhancing the definition of communication such as the intention, emotion, feeling and status of the interlocutor. The students who learn Thai language as a second language should understand Thai particle accurately in the context of Thai society so that they could enhance their Thai language skills and abilities to match with those of the native speakers as well as a good understanding about Thai language and culture. Nowadays, the language teaching is focusing on students’ communicative competence in choosing words or sentences appropriately in various circumstances and practicing how to express the meaning in actual language use. Teaching by using the Task-Based and Cooperative Learning Management will allow the students to practice their language while doing classroom activities and sharing ideas in conversations which are considered as “Task”. This teaching approach plays an important role to promote foreign students’ learning and motivation and improve their skills in using Thai particles.
