ศึกษารูปแบบของการลำดับภาพในภาพยนตร์: กรณีศึกษาภาพยนตร์ที่ได้รับรางวัลสาขาการลำดับภาพยอดเยี่ยม จากสถาบันภาพยนตร์ศิลปะและวิทยาศาสตร์ (AMPAS) ในช่วงที่ ค.ศ. 1999-2008

บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาถึงทฤษฎี หลักการ รูปแบบแนวคิด ของการลำดับภาพในภาพยนตร์ ที่มุ่งเน้นไปที่ภาพยนตร์บันเทิง โดยศึกษาถึงความเป็นมาในประวัติศาสตร์ของการตัดต่อภาพยนตร์ ซึ่งมีนักทฤษฎี และแนวคิดต่างๆ ที่เกิดขึ้น ตั้งแต่ยุคภาพยนตร์เงียบ (Silence film) ยุคภาพยนตร์เสียง (Sound film) จนรวมไปถึงภาพยนตร์ในปัจจุบัน เพื่อความครอบคลุม และเห็นรูปร่างโดยรวมของเทคนิคการตัดต่อภาพยนตร์

การวิจัยนี้เป็นวิจัยพื้นฐานทางการศึกษาเชิงวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาเพื่อให้เกิดองค์ความรู้ และสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้เชิงพาณิชย์ในอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ได้ โดยศึกษาจากตำราทฤษฎีภาพยนตร์ ทฤษฎีการตัดต่อภาพยนตร์ทั้งภาษาไทย และต่างประเทศ ร่วมกับการศึกษาจากภาพยนตร์ที่ได้รับรางวัลเฉพาะสาขาการลำดับภาพยอดเยี่ยมจากสถาบันภาพยนตร์ศิลปะและวิทยาศาสตร์ (AMPAS) ซึ่งจัดว่าเป็นสถาบันที่ได้รับความเชื่อถือ โดยภาพยนตร์ที่นำมาศึกษาอยู่ในช่วงระหว่าง ปีค.ศ. 1999 - 2008 (พ.ศ. 2542- 2551) จำนวน 10 เรื่องเพื่อนำมาใช้เป็นกรณีศึกษา

ผลที่ได้รับทำให้เห็นภาพรวมของการลำดับภาพในภาพยนตร์ซึ่งในปัจจุบันนั้นเป็นการตัดต่อที่เน้นแนวคิด (Concept) ไม่ว่าจะเป็นใช้ความต่อเนื่องเชื่อมโยงของพื้นที่และเวลาที่มีความซับซ้อนหลากหลายเรื่องราว เน้นการลำดับภาพเพื่อให้ก่อเกิดอารมณ์และความหมายทางนัยยะมากกว่าเพียงแค่เชื่อมต่อเนื้อหาใช้การตัดต่อแบบไดนามิก(Dynamic)  และแบบสัมพันธ์กัน (Match cut) เพื่อเชื่อมโยงความสัมพันธ์กันของเนื้อหา (Subject) และการตัดต่อแบบชน ปะทะ ขัดแย้ง กระโดด ผิดทิศทาง ทุกสิ่งถูกสร้างสรรค์ให้สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดทั้งหมดของภาพยนตร์ เพื่อจุดประสงค์เดียวคือการสร้างอารมณ์คล้อยตามให้เกิดขึ้นอย่างถึงขีดสุดนั่นเอง

Abstract

This research is to study about the theory, principle, and concept of film editing which is focusing on feature film by studying the background in the past of film editing since the occurrence of theory and concept in the era of silence film, sound film, including current film, in order to be covered and to see the overall picture of editing technique

This research is a basic educational research with content analysis in order to create knowledge to be applied in the film industry commercially. Data to be analyzed were obtained from the books concerning to film theory and film editing theory, both in Thai and foreign language, and 10 films that has been awarded in the field of best editing by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science (AMPAS), a liable institute for 10 years during 1999-2008.

In conclusion, film editing nowadays is a concept-based edition, regardless of continuity and linkage between space and time with complexity of various stories, as well as focusing on editing to create emotion, meaning and sense rather than to link the content together. In addition, dynamic and match cut are used to link the subject together and hitting, attack, conflict, jumping and wrong direction type of editing are created to conform to the whole concept of the film with the only one goal. That is to create peak inner feeling of the audiences.
