บทคัดย่อ

บทความนำเสนอความรู้พื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับโครงสร้างเมือง (Urban Structure) โดยเฉพาะแนวคิดเมืองหลายศูนย์กลางโดยเริ่มจากความหมายของโครงสร้างเมือง ซึ่งหมายถึง การจัดระบบขององค์ประกอบด้านกายภาพ เศรษฐกิจ และสังคมที่รวมกันขึ้นเป็นเมืองอันเป็นผลมาจากปฏิสัมพันธ์เชิงพื้นที่ อย่างไรก็ดี บทความนี้ให้ความสนใจโดยตรงต่อความหมายของกลุ่มเศรษฐศาสตร์เมือง รายละเอียดต่างๆ ของทั้งชุดบทความจึงอิงกับแนวคิดและกระบวนการวิเคราะห์กระแสหลักที่นำไปใช้ในทางเศรษฐศาสตร์เป็นสำคัญ ในหัวข้อที่สอง ได้กล่าวถึงการแบ่งประเภทโครงสร้างเมือง ซึ่งแม้มีเกณฑ์หลายประการที่สามารถใช้ในการแบ่งประเภท แต่ในท้ายที่สุดแล้ว ผลการจำแนกล้วนให้ข้อสรุปที่ลู่เข้าหากัน กล่าวคือ โครงสร้างเมืองสามารถแบ่งได้ด้วยจำนวนศูนย์กลางเป็นเมืองศูนย์กลางเดี่ยว (Monocentric City) และเมืองพหุศูนย์กลาง (Polycentric City) หัวข้อสุดท้ายได้รวบรวมวิธีการต่างๆ ที่ใช้ในการวัดโครงสร้างเมือง อันประกอบด้วย การศึกษาในเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitatative)ซึ่งพิจารณาจากพัฒนาการของการใช้ที่ดิน และการศึกษาในเชิงปริมาณ (Quatitative) ซึ่งมีตั้งแต่การวัดด้วย ค่าดัชนีต่างๆการวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติ (การกระจายของรูปแบบจุดและแบบจำลองเมืองศูนย์กลางเดี่ยว-พหุศูนย์กลาง) การวิเคราะห์สาทิสรูป(Fractal Analysis) และการวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติเชิงพื้นที่ (Spatial Statistics) รายละเอียดต่างๆ ในบทความจะถูกใช้เปรียบเทียบกับภาคปฏิบัติของงานวิจัยไทยในการศึกษาโครงสร้างเมืองในบทความตอนที่ 2 ต่อไป

Abstract

The article presents a fundamental knowledge about urban structure, particularly concept of polycentriccity. Definition of urban structure, which is systemization of physical, economic and social components resultingof spatial interactions, is discussed in the first section; however, the article directly concerns upon economicaspect. Then, the approach behind in the other parts of the paper mainly ties with urban economics. Secondtopic is about type of urban structure which is finally divided by number of center, i.e. monocentric andpolycenric city. Final section collects various methods measured urban structure both quantitative, i.e. developmentof land use, and qualitative approaches, e.g. indices, spatial point pattern analysis, monocentric-polycentricmodel, fractal analysis, spatial statistics. The detailed concept of urban structure in this paper will be comparedand discussed with Thai’s urban structure research in the following paper.
