บทคัดย่อ
     การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประวัติความเป็นมาพัฒนาการ และการเปลี่ยนแปลงของชุมชนตลาดบางหลวงตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน เพื่อนำมาวิเคราะห์ถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีชีวิตและลักษณะการตั้งถิ่นฐานของชุมชนตลาดบางหลวงโดยศึกษาจากการเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ ที่เคยเกิดขึ้นภายในชุมชนตลาดบางหลวง จังหวัดนครปฐมในแต่ละช่วงเวลา จากการศึกษาพบว่า บริเวณชุมชนตลาดบางหลวง เกิดจากการรวมกลุ่มของคนจีนที่อพยพย้ายเข้ามาตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่บริเวณริมแม่น้ำนครชัยศรีและพัฒนาจนกลายเป็นชุมชน มักใช้เรือเป็นพาหนะหลักในการเดินทาง และด้วยการพัฒนาของยุคสมัยส่งผลให้ชุมชนตลาด
บางหลวงเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงและมีการปรับตัว เพื่อให้ชุมชนสามารถรักษาเอกลักษณ์ของวิถีชีวิตริมแม่น้ำไว้ ซึ่งจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงในแต่ละช่วงเวลามีสาเหตุสำคัญจากการพัฒนาระบบการสัญจร โดยเริ่มจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงของรูปแบบสัญจรทางน้ำที่มีการใหบ้ ริการเรอื เมลโ์ ดยสารและสร้างท่าเรือเมล์โดยสารภายในชุมชน จึงมีผู้คนเข้าออกชุมชนและย้ายเข้ามาสร้างบ้านเรือนเป็นจำนวนมาก ทำให้ขอบเขตของชุมชนมีขนาดกว้างขึ้น และจำนวนประชากรเพิ่มสูงขึ้น รวมทั้งส่งผลต่อการค้าขายภายในชุมชนที่เจริญรุ่งเรืองมากขึ้น ประกอบกับเมื่อเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงของระบบสัญจรทางบกโดยการตัดถนนผ่านหน้าชุมชนความสะดวกสบายในการสัญจรทางบกจึงเข้ามาแทนที่การสัญจรทางน้ำ ดังนั้นท่าเรือเมล์โดยสารภายในชุมชนต้องยกเลิกการให้บริการ ส่งผลให้มีจำนวนผู้คนเข้าออกชุมชนน้อยลงมาก การค้าขายภายในชุมชนจึงซบเซาลงไปด้วยเช่นกัน แต่ยังคงมีผู้คนอาศัยอยู่ภายในชุมชนและที่ช่วยกันรักษาวิถีชีวิตริมน้ำไว้ แม้ว่าจะเคยเกิดเหตุการณ์ลักลอบขายที่ดินของชุมชน แต่ด้วยความร่วมมือของคนภายในชุมชน ที่การซื้อที่ดินกลับคืนมา และความสามัคคีกันเพื่อรักษาความเป็นชุมชนเก่าริมน้ำเอาไว้ อีกทั้งได้รับการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาลท้องถิ่น จึงส่งผลให้ชุมชนตลาดบางหลวงจึงยังคงวิถีชีวิตของชุมชนริมน้ำไว้ได้จนถึงปัจจุบัน

Abstract
      The research purposes to study the history and the transformation of Bang Luang market community located in Nakhon Pathom province in order to determine factors influencing on the transformation and the settlement of the community in each period. In the past, Chinese immigrants settled down along the bank of Nakhon Chai Sri River. This is because boats mainly used as the main transportation linking the period. As more and more people moving to the area, Bang Luang community was eventually existed. It has been found that the developments of the community in each period significantly contributed to the transformation and change in the community’s way of life and identity. In addition, it is clearly to say that the water transportation system was the key factor to develop the community affected by overwhelming immigration. Similarly, economic development was also encouraged by the system as well. However, the water transportation systems were eventually replaced by the development of road systems resulting in a port in the community, closing down
and economic slumping. Moreover, the number of visitors was decreased by this factor as well. Nevertheless, 

     indigenous people still continually live in the area and conserve their identity. Despite the fact that the illegal land sales were committed in the community, people supported by a local authority tried to solve this problem and defend their community together.
