บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้นในแต่ละช่วงเวลาของย่านตลาด กระทุ่มแบน จังหวัดสมุทรสาคร จากการศึกษาพบว่า ในอดีตย่านตลาดกระทุ่มแบน เป็นย่านตลาดริมนํ้าที่มีบทบาทในการ เป็นศูนย์กลางการค้าที่สำคัญ แต่เมื่อกาลเวลาผ่านไป สภาพแวดล้อมและความต้องการของประชาชนเปลี่ยนแปลงตาม ความเจริญที่แพร่ขยายเข้ามา ส่งผลให้ย่านตลาดกระทุ่มแบนจำเป็นต้องมีการปรับเปลี่ยนเพื่อให้ตอบสนองกับความต้องการ ของคนในปัจจุบัน ทำให้บทบาทการเป็นศูนย์กลางด้านการค้าลดลงเรื่อยๆ อีกทั้งยังประสบปัญหาเรื่องการพัฒนาที่ไม่สอดคล้อง กับลักษณะและรูปแบบดั้งเดิมของตลาด ทำให้ปัจจุบันย่านตลาดกระทุ่มแบนแทบจะไม่สามารถสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงเอกลักษณ์ และความสำคัญที่เคยมีมาแต่อดีตให้ผู้ที่พบเห็นรับรูใด้ ดังนั้นในการจะรักษาย่านตลาดริมนํ้าเก่าแก่ให้สามารถคงอยู่ต่อไปได้ จึงจำเป็นต้องมีการศึกษาถึงปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้น เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจและเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการวางแผน รองรับการพัฒนาที่อาจเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตได้อย่างเหมาะสมต่อไป ซึ่งผลการศึกษาสามารถอธิบายถึงปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการ เปลี่ยนแปลงของย่านตลาดกระทุ่มแบน โดยแบ่งปัจจัยได้เป็น 3 ด้านหลักๆ ได้แก่ 1) ปัจจัยทางด้านกายภาพ โดยเฉพาะ อย่างยิ่งในเรื่องของการตัดถนนเข้ามาในพื้นที่ 2) ปัจจัยทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ ในเรื่องความหลากหลายของรูปแบบการค้าขาย ที่เกิดขึ้นในปัจจุบัน ทำให้ประชาชนมีทางเลือกมากยิ่งขึ้นและ 3) ปัจจัยทางด้านสังคม และวัฒนธรรม ทั้งค่านิยมในการ ประกอบอาชีพที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น อันเป็นผลมาจากการได้รับการศึกษาที่สูงขึ้น และทัศนคติด้านลบของผู้คนในย่านที่มีต่อ อาคารเก่าในพื้นที่ ปัจจัยเหล่านี้ล้วนส่งผลให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงขึ้นกับย่านตลาดกระทุ่มแบนดังเช่นในปัจจุบัน

Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the factors affecting in different periods of time the changes that occurred in Krathumban Market, Samutsakhon province. It was found that in the past Krathumban Market was one of the most important trade centers. Through the change of time, the environment as well as the people’s needs was affected. When modern civilization seeped in everywhere, Krathumban Market had to adapt itself to meet the people’s needs. The role of a trade center decreased dramatically. It also faced development problems that were not consistent with the style and tradition of the Market. As a result, today Krathumban Market can hardly reflect its uniqueness and glories as it once could. Thus, to restore this old waterfront existence, it is necessary to study the factors affecting the changes in the past so that a genuine understanding in drawing up future plans for its development can be reached. The result of this study can explain three important elements that affected Krathumban Market. They are as follows: 1) Physical infrastructure, especially the construction of new roads into the area, 2) Economic infrastructure leading to a variety of trade forms that have offered more choices to shoppers, and 3) Social and cultural context as evidenced by a more educated population, more careers and, some related issues such as negative attitudes of the dwellers towards old buildings in the area. All of the above mentioned have made what Krathumban Market is today.
