THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TESTS OBJECTIVE EXAM PROGRAM FOR ONLINE EXAMINATION

This study originated from a Routine to Research (R2R) project. The aims of the study were: 1) to develop a basic objective test analysis program for online examination, and 2) to compare the results gained from the developed version of the basic objective test analysis program, the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) answer sheet, and the SPSS program. This study applied simple random sampling. The sample consisted of 162 answer sheets collected from students at the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University. Each answer sheet consisted of 60 items. The research instruments used in this study were the basic objective test analysis program for online examination, and the evaluation form to investigate the appropriateness of the developed version of the basic objective test analysis program for online examination. The statistics used in the study were mean, standard deviation, paired sample t-test, and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC).
The results showed the following: 1) the basic objective test analysis program for online examination was the most appropriate (Mean 4.54, S.D. = 0.03); 2) there was a significant difference between the developed version of the basic objective test analysis program and the OMR answer sheet and the SPSS program. Moreover, this study revealed that the developed version of the basic objective test analysis program for online examination was highly reliable (ICC ≥ 0.90).
