Abstract

The objectives of this study were to study public participation and factors influencing public participation in solid waste recycling in Yannawa district. Expected results of this study may be useful for other districts in Bangkok in enhancing the solid waste management. Survey research by questionnaire to 400 samples with systematic random sampling (one sample from every five families) ) including qualitative research by observation and in-depth interview were performed. General data were analyzed statistically by using frequency, percentage and means. Hypotheses were tested by t-test, F-test, Welch-test and Pearson’s Correlation. The results of study have revealed the factors such as age, number of member in his/her family, education, occupation, salary, knowledge in community solid waste management, attitude and willing to participate in solid waste management are influencing public participation.
