Retirement Preparation of Staff in Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

Abstract

The preparation for encountering the aging society in Thailand is an urgent issue because the seniors will become significant players to drive Thai Economics and Society. The Retirement Planning before entering the retirement is so important to start early and perform continually. The objectives of this research are 1. to study the level of the Retirement Preparation and 2. to study the influence of factors that are the cognitive performance, the perceived self-efficacy, the attitude towards retirement and the characteristics of staffs. The quantitative research is used to study the 260 samples of the staff in in Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University who age more than 45 years old. The multi-stage sampling design was used with the sample size determined from 20 time of the observed variable. The questionnaires were used to survey and collect the date to be analyzed by the descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling. The result of the research found that 1. the level of retirement preparation, cognitive performance and the perceived self-efficacy are in the very good level while the attitude towards retirement and the characteristics of staffs are in the good level. 2. The cognitive performance is the most influence factor to the retirement preparation. The next ones are the perceived self-efficacy, the characteristics of staffs and the attitude towards retirement respectively with the Chi-square/df = 2.93 RMSEA=0.08 GFI=0.90 CFI =0.98 PGFI= 0.59 และ RMR=0.045. The research can be applied to determine the strategy for the human resource development in Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.
