The Causal Relationship Model of Entrepreneurial Leadership Effecting Business Performance of Family Business Entrepreneurs Focused on Resort and Hotel in Thailand

Abstract

This research aimed to validate the causal relationship model of entrepreneurial leadership that affected on business performance of hotel and resort industries operate by family business entrepreneurs in Thailand. The research sample consisted of 490 family business entrepreneurs, who runs hotel and resort business, were randomly selected using multi-stage sampling. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and the linear Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was adopted to verify the goodness-of-fit effects among the overall model, structural model and measurement model by employing LISREL 8.72. The research finding shown that the validation results of the causal relationship model was fit to the empirical data with the goodness of fit statistics as follows: chi-square = 74.491 (df = 97; p = .95659); GFI = .984; AGFI = .969; RMSEA = .000 and RMR = 0.037. The value of R2 was 0.39, expressed that all variables in the model could explain the variance of business performance for 39 percent. Comparing among the variables in the model, service-driven market orientation, service innovation, and learning orientation were a good mediator between entrepreneurial leadership and business performance.
