THE INFLUENCE OF BACKGROUND, ENTREPRENEURIAL ORIENTATION, AND SOCIAL NETWORK TOWARD BUSINESS SUCCESS OF RATCHABURI ENTREPRENEURS

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of background, entrepreneurial orientation, social networks toward business success of SMEs in Ratchaburi, Thailand. The quantitative approach was applied by survey 594 firm’s owner, directed personal distribute questionnaires. Structural Equation Model (SEM) technique was deployed to examine the factor confirmatory and path diagram diagnosis. The findings were entrepreneur’s age and firm age have negative influenced to entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneur’s work experiences and firm size have positive influenced to entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneur’s age and education level as well as entrepreneurial orientation have direct effect to social networks, entrepreneur’s education level have negative influenced to business success, firm size and social networks have directed influence to business success significantly. The statistic result shows the suitable model which is consistent with the theoretical model and the critical value is informed by chi-square

(χ2)= 53.252, Degree of freedom = 32, χ2/df = 1.664, P value = .011, GFI = .986, AGFI = .962, CFI = .993, NFI= .982, RMR = 1.038 and RMSEA = .033. Hence, the entrepreneurs should concern about firm size and social networks expansion.
