Abstract
The study of “Successful Operational Assessment of Police Bureau of Inspection, Royal Thai Police Bureau” is a quantitative research that aims to evaluate the successful performance and to study the factors that affect the operations of the Police Bureau of Inspection, Royal Thai Police Bureau. The samples of this study are 325 police officers who work at the Police Bureau of Inspection, Royal Thai Police Bureau. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, t-test (Independent Samples), and Pearson Product – Moment Correlation Coefficients. The results of the study could be summarized as follows: The results of background factors or personal information show that the police officers who work as inspectors mostly are males aged 26 - 35 years old, hold a Bachelor’s Degree, and earn monthly incomes of THB 25,001 – 30,000. Most of them are commissioned police officers and have a single status with 6 – 10 years of service. The results of Stimulus Factors indicate that most of them receive informal communication (It is a communication between social groups, direct affection, intimacy, or personal acquaintance) accounted for 62.5 percent; are informed about the policies by department’s announcement accounted for 40.9 percent; have knowledge and understanding on the principles which can proceed according to the action plans, strategic plans, and other plans accounting for 48.6 percent, and have knowledge and understanding of laws, rules, and regulations that related to daily operations. The overall analytical results of the “Successful Operational Assessment of Police Bureau of Inspection, Royal Thai Police Bureau” illustrate that the operation results are at a high level (=3.655, S.D. = 0.112). When considering each aspect, it is found that the operation result with the highest average is in monitoring and evaluation with the operation result at a high-level (= 4.116, S.D. = 0.302). In addition, the operation result with the lowest average is in maintenance with the operation result at a moderate level (= 3.210, S.D. = 0.296). The recommendation is that there is a need to conduct an in-depth research study with the public who receive services from the police officers in order to know the in-depth problems of the operation.
