Abstract
The research on the Role of Investigators under the Law Related to Human Trafficking Offenses: A Comparative Case Study of Thailand and the Philippines is qualitative research. This study examines the legal framework and investigative processes related to human trafficking in Thailand and the Philippines. The objectives are to compare relevant laws, evaluate investigative methods used in both countries, and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the investigative procedures in Thailand to propose measures to enhance the efficiency in handling human trafficking cases. The research gathers data from diverse sources, including relevant laws, academic literature, And in-depth interviews with 10 key informants. The findings indicate that both countries prioritize and progressively address human trafficking cases, yet they differ in legal interpretation and investigative methods, affecting overall effectiveness. Challenges identified within the Thai system include inconsistent interview measures, insufficient victim protection measures, and corruption issues. Recommendations for improvement include clarifying legal definitions, enhancing inter-agency cooperation, and integrating advanced technology into investigative processes. This research contributes valuable insights into the comparative legal perspectives on human trafficking and provides foundational information for developing future policies to strengthen law enforcement efforts related to human trafficking offenses in Thailand.
