Factors Affecting the Decision-Making Process of Metrosexual Men in Selecting Aesthetic Clinic Services in Bangkok
Main Article Content
Abstract
Male grooming in urban Thailand has expanded steadily, and aesthetic clinics need to know which marketing elements shape men’s choice of provider. This quantitative study aimed to (1) examine the service marketing mix (7Ps) of aesthetic clinics in Bangkok, (2) study the decision-making process of metrosexual men in selecting aesthetic clinic services in Bangkok, and (3) analyze the service marketing mix factors affecting this decision-making process. The sample comprised 400 metrosexual men aged 20–50 years who lived, worked, or spent their daily lives in Bangkok and had used aesthetic clinic services. Respondents were recruited through purposive and snowball sampling and had to pass all five screening questions. Data were collected with an online questionnaire whose items all had IOC values above .50, with overall reliability coefficients of .89 for the service marketing mix and .86 for the decision-making process. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that (1) respondents rated the 7Ps at high to highest levels of importance, with physical evidence rated highest (M = 4.55) and price lowest (M = 4.40); (2) the overall decision-making process was at a high level (M = 4.49), and comparing quality and price before choosing a clinic received the highest mean; and (3) the seven factors jointly explained 64.1% of the variance in the decision-making process, with physical evidence (β = .461), price (β = .151), and place (β = .138) having significant effects, so the hypothesis was partially supported. The key finding is that factors consumers can verify or compare before receiving the service drive the decision, whereas promotion, although ranked second in importance, had no significant effect.
