PEOPLE PARTICIPATIO IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OF SARIKA SUB-DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION MUANG DISTRICT NAKHON NAYOK PROVINCE

Abstract

This research paper aimed to: 1. Study public participation in community development, 2. Study engagement relationships, principles of Aparihaniya-dhamma 7 with people in community development, 3. Study problems. obstacles and recommendations for public participation in community development, conducted by the mixed methods research. The quantitative method, data were collected from 382 samples who were people living at Sarika District Administrative District using Taro Yamane’s formula for sample size and analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient. The qualitative research, data were collected from key informants by in-depth interviewing and analyzed by content descriptive interpretation.

Findings were found that the level of public participation in community development, by overall, was at moderate level.  The relationship of participation, Aparihaniya-dhamma 7 with the people participation in the community development had  very high level of correlation at statistically significant level of 0.01. Problems, obstacles and recommendations for public participation in community development were that some groups of people lacked   responsibility lacked new technologies and tools for community development, village and community meetings that were good for community development. Recommendations were that there should be a system for all communities to have development consultations, for community leaders to consult on community development issues to move forward at the same time.
