WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICE EFFCIENCY OF THAMAI TOWN MUNICIPALITY, THAMAI DISTRICT, CHANTHABURI PROVINCE.

Abstract

This research was aimed to study the level of efficiency of waste management services, the relationship of Buddhist principles with waste management service efficiency and study problems obstacles and recommendations for waste management services efficiency, conducted with the mixed research methods. The quantitative method collected data from 385 samples who were the residents of Tha Mai Municipality, Tha Mai District, Chanthaburi Province, analyzed data by determining frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, and analyzed the relationship between Buddhist principles and waste management services efficiency using Pearson correlation coefficient methods. The qualitative method collected data from 9 key informants by in-depth-interviewing and analyzed by content descriptive interpretation. 

          Findings were that the level of efficiency of waste management services in the field of services, by overall, was at high level (  =3.85, S.D. =1.037). The relationship between Buddhist principles and the efficiency of waste management services, by overall, had positive correlation at high level. (R=0.919**). Problems, obstacles and recommendation, consisting of a lot of waste, there was not enough waste bins for the number of households. The waste collecting points were still low. So the number of trash cans with separate colors  should be increased enough in the community. There should create a waste sorting training program, as well as reward presentation to  communities with waste sorting. Public relations aspect, there should be public meeting to promote and listen to complaints as well as answer public inquiries.
