STUDY OF WORKING CONDITIONS AND SOCIAL PROTECTION OF HOUSEKEEPER

Abstract

This is an academic article with the author's objectives are to study the working conditions of housekeeping workers, who are informal workers affected by inequality in the Thai social system regarding welfare or social protection of this occupation that has not been as successful as it should be. Because there is still unfairness in terms of working conditions, compensation, rights, and welfare in various aspects that are not yet covered.  From the study of the problem, it was found that some housekeepers' rights were violated, and freedom matters in the life of work. For example, employers treated them disrespectfully with their words and gestures simply because these groups of people in these occupations are perceived by society as inferior group. It is also not fair them for not having access to welfare or social protection. The author therefore studied various related research papers to explain the working conditions of housekeepers, including the demands of housekeepers who expect the relevant government agencies to understand the council. The working conditions between an employee, a housekeepers, and employers about the compensation, rights, and welfare that they should receive fairly like other informal occupation workers in Thai society.
