BUDDHADHAMMA APPLICATION FOR WORK POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISORS OF ROYAL IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT

Abstract

This research article aimed: 1. To examine the work performance potential of government construction supervisors under the Royal Irrigation Department, 2. To investigate the factors influencing their performance potential, and 3. To propose the application of Buddhist principles to enhance their professional capacity, conducted by the mixed methods. The quantitative component involved a survey of 388 personnel from the Royal Irrigation Department using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The qualitative research collected data by in-depth interviewing 18 key informants comprising experts from the Royal Irrigation Department, academics, and relevant stakeholders using a structured in-depth-interview script, along with focus group discussions with 9 participants. Qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive content interpretation.

Findings were as follows: 1. The work potential of public construction supervisors of Royal Irrigation Department found that in overall was at high level. 2. The of human resource development significantly affected the work potential of public construction supervisors of Royal Irrigation Department in all aspects at a level of 0.01 and could predict the variability at 61.5 percent. The Bala four significantly affected at a level of 0.01 and could predict the variability at 74.5 percent. 3. The work potential of public construction supervisors of Royal Irrigation Department, when the development process was conducted, the construction supervisor had the following potential: In aspect of knowledge, personnel had necessary knowledge related to construction supervision and had continued his education at a higher level. In aspect of skills, personnel had skills in using modern technology to control construction work. In aspect of attitude, personnel loved the honor and dignity of being a good person and was aware of ethics. In aspect of personality, personnel had leadership qualities, was polite, gentle, humble, and knew the right time and place. In aspect of motivation, personnel had been considered for promotion based on the results of his work and had clearly planned his own advancement.
