THE RELATIONSHIP OF CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IN SUB-DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATIONS IN PHRA NAKHON SI AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article aims to: 1. To study the level of conflict in the administration of Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, 2. To study the relationship between the level of conflict and conflict management approaches in the administration of Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, and 3. To study conflict management models in the administration of Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, conducted by the mixed research methods. The sample group consisted of 380 personnel of Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The research instruments used were questionnaires and interview script. Statistical methods used for quantitative data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. Qualitative data analysis was conducted using descriptive interpretation.

Findings were as follows: 1. The overall level of conflict in SAOs of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province was moderate; 2. The relationship between the level of conflict and conflict management approaches was high and statistically significant at the 0.01 level; and 3. The conflict management patterns in SAO administration consisted of the following: for personnel, leaders acted appropriately, transparently, and resolved conflicts through private admonishment or compromise; for finance, budgets were allocated fairly, transparently, and measures were taken to prevent conflicts of interest; for materials and equipment, shared resources were used fairly, personal misuse was addressed, and collective interests were protected; and for management, personnel were encouraged to express opinions, continuous and equitable work development was supported, and activities were promoted to foster organizational harmony.
