Public Participation on Development Planning of Thakhae Sub-district Administration Organization, Lopburi Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study public participation on development planning, participation problems, and means to enhance participation. The data were collected by questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The research found that the level of public participation on development planning was at the moderate level. Major problems in public participation were lack of public mind in participation, lack of knowledge and understanding  about local development plan, laws and regulations were not responsive to the needs of people, budget and resources were insufficient for supporting  projects on the development plan, and public relations was not effective.
