Abstract

The objectives of this study were to assess the situation of clinical advertisment, to analyze troubles and gap in the enforcement of Health Facility Act 2541 for advertisement control, and to suggest measures for an effective implementation of the Act. This study was focused on clinics located in Bangkok metropolis. It was based on secondary data and recent evidence of clinical advertisement. It was revealed that problems and obstacles in the law enforcement included the fact that the Law was dated, light penalty, lack of staff and support tools, and duplicating or overlapping in terms of policy, knowledge, understanding among government units. There were also problems and obstacles from the social behavior of consumers, environmental changes and the medical service business.
