การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลการดำเนินงานของธุรกิจ ขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (SMEs) และสมรรถนะของผู้ประกอบการ ขอบข่าย การแข่งขัน และศักยภาพองค์การ วิเคราะห์ตัวแบบด้วยสมการโครงสร้าง (SEM) ด้วยโปรแกรม Smart PLS-Graph 3.0 โดยอาศัยข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์จากกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้ประกอบการวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม  ในกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 500 ราย ผลการศึกษาสรุปได้ดังนี้ สมรรถนะของผู้ประกอบการวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (SMEs ) ไม่ใช่ปัจจัยที่สำคัญต่อผลการดำเนินงานของวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (SMEs ) แต่เป็นปัจจัยด้านขอบข่ายการแข่งขันและศักยภาพองค์การที่มีต่อผลการดำเนินงานของวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (SMEs ) ทั้งด้านต้นทุน ความแตกต่างทางการตลาด  การจัดการความสัมพันธ์กับลูกค้าและความรู้ในการทำงาน  

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were to look into the relationship between firm performance, on the one hand, and entrepreneurial capability, on the other, with firm capability and competitive scope as mediator variables. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was analyzed with Smart PLS-Graph 3.0. based on empirical data from the questionnaires for a sample of 500 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bangkok. It was revealed that entrepreneurial competency was not so significant for firm performance as competitive scope and firm capability that included costs, market differentiation, customer relation management and working knowledge.
