Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aimed to 1) study factors influencing mobile banking behavior in the digital age among the elderly; 2) study financial behaviors that influence the adoption of mobile banking in the digital age among the elderly; and 3) explore approaches to implementing mobile banking innovations via mobile phones in the digital age among the elderly. The research design utilized a mixed-methods approach. The sample consisted of 398 elderly individuals aged 60 and over residing in Bangkok. Convenience sampling was used. Two research instruments were used: 1) questionnaires and 2) interview forms. Quantitative research analyzed data using percentages, frequencies, means, standard deviations, t-tests, and F-tests. One-way ANOVA was used for analysis of variance (ANOVA). Hypothesis testing was performed using statistical regression analysis. Qualitative research utilized in-depth interviews with stakeholders using a purposive sampling method. Triangulation was used for data analysis, interpretation, and inductive conclusion generation. Content analysis was conducted on documents and interviews, using descriptive text. The results revealed that the factor influencing mobile banking behavior among the elderly had a coefficient of explanation of only 22.7%, and the financial behavior affecting acceptance was only 0.2%. The appropriate approach was to build understanding and confidence among the elderly through training, manuals, easy communication, user-friendly applications, large fonts, and clear menus, along with staff assistance and continuous public relations to promote positive attitudes, safety, and increased sustainable access to digital services.
