The Study of Lampang’s Horse Carriage as a Transport Tourism

Abstract

This article presents Lampang’s horse carriages as transport tourism of Lampang Province to describe the current situations and future challenges of transport tourism in Thailand. The important question is how we can use lesson learned from other countries as tools to improve local tourism in our country, especially in the delegation of provincial tourism promotion and everyday life practices of the horse carriage drivers. This article indicates that promoting tourism to rely upon horse carriages, or transport as tourism/an attraction, is a sustainable management of Lampang’s horse carriages rather than utilizing the horse carriages just for tourism.
