Capital and Labour of "The Lady": A Nude Model for "American School Artists in Thailand"
Keywords:
nude model, art, labourAbstract
This article aims to reveal a social structure in which a nude model was created in Thai society as a selfless labourer existing in two social spheres. This study was based on the life of a nude model who had been in this profession for 38 years. It was found that the model-depicting works of art were generally regarded as having greater value than the model herself, whose life was in a circle of stupidity, poverty and suffering. It argues that artists reconsider the nature of their involvement in creating works of art form nude model.
