Abstract

This review article is to analyze and synthesize the development of English vocabulary memorization skills by teaching with Total Physical Response in Grade 3 students. It was found that in today's global society, many people are already aware that English is a very important language. Understanding the differences in language, culture, thinking, society, politics, having a good attitude towards using English and being able to use English for communication. Knowledge of vocabulary is the most important because vocabulary can help learners succeed in their studies and help learners learn languages ​​more effectively. The teaching method with Total Physical Response in Grade 3 students follows commands and requests that they listen to, reads aloud letters, words, groups of words, simple sentences, and simple rhythmic dialogues correctly according to the principles of reading, tells the meaning of words and groups of words that they listen to, and answers questions from listening to or reading sentences, conversations, or simple stories. Speak in short, simple words in interpersonal communication according to the listening model. Use simple commands and requests. State simple needs. Speak and give information about yourself and your friends. Tell your feelings about things around you or activities according to the listening model. Speak and give information about yourself and things around you. Categorize words according to types of people, animals, and things according to what you hear or read. Speak and make gestures according to the social etiquette/culture of the native speaker. Tell the names and simple words about festivals/important days/celebrations and the lives of the native speaker. Participate in language and cultural activities appropriate to your age. Tell the differences in the sounds of letters, words, and groups of words.
