Success of One Tambon One Product Project: A Case Study of Farm Women Group, Pho Prathap Chang District, Phichit Province

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the success of One Tambon One Product Project of the Samakkee PhoPrathap Chang and the Thataklaw Samakkee Farm Women Groups; 2) to study the potential of the Samakkee PhoPrathap Chang and the Thataklaw Samakkee Farm Women Groups; and 3) to compare the level of success and potential between the Samakkee PhoPrathap Chang and the Thataklaw Samakkee Farm Women Groups, PhoPrathap Chang District, Phichit Province. The sample was purposively selected from farm women groups, government officials and shop owners. The in-depth interview, observation and document investigations were used as the means of data gathering. Content analysis and data grouping were used to analyze data. For the project success, it was found that the Samakkee PhoPrathap Chang Farm Women Group had high level of success in terms of having more products, product development and expanding the market both domestic and international. For the Thataklaw Samakkee Farm Woman Group, its success was at sufficient level with the same amount of product and its market was at provincial level. Regarding group potential, it was found that the Samakkee Pho Prathap Chang Farm Women Group had higher potential in group characteristics, group work process and gaining support from those concerning offices.
