Exploring Pre-Service Teachers' Biology Content Knowledge

Twenty two pre-service biology teachers from 8 institutions nationwide; universities and teacher colleges, were measured content knowledge by Biology Concept Test (BCT) on the following areas; cell and transportation, enzymes and chemical reaction in cells, respiration and photosynthesis, development, genetics, and evolution. Test result revealed most of the pre-service teachers had alternative conceptions on every biological topics especially respiration and photosynthesis, and genetics.
