Bidding in Election Process and Reinforcement of Thai Parliament Institution

Abstract

This study aimed to conclude the cause of bidding system, which using money to buy votes from people in the election process and the problems of bidding system. It used the election principals to analyze, and it found that: the causes of bidding system were 1) the authoritarian political culture upon the patron-client system and populist policy 2) the changing role of the capitalist groups and 3) the weakness of monitoring mechanism, so these factors effected to the problems of bidding system. It had 3 important characters, which were 1) the lack and less of value of representative in the political system 2) the weak political parties and 3) to establish the capitalist parliament that going against the parliament philosophy.
