Abstract

The research of Thai democracy after the coup d'état aimed to
study 1) the causal factors and the pattern of the Thai coup d'état 2)
Thai democracy after the coup d'état and 3) the suggestion to establish
the strong democracy in Thailand. This research was the qualitative
methodology and analyzed by interpretative technics. The results
found that:
1) the causal factors and the pattern of the Thai coup d'état
were the emergency situation requiring the solution, authoritarian
political culture, military culture, and Law Enforcement.
2) Thai democracy after the coup d'état had 3 types such as to
seizure the election government, to seizure the coup’ s government
and the controlled government by the coup, and to seizure the coup
of themselves-government. There were 3 types of the government
after the coup d'état such as the army government, the controlled
government by the coup, and the election government.
and 3) the suggestions to establish the strong democracy in
Thailand were to resolve the political institution problems and the
political participation of the citizen to create the strong democratic
political culture.
