Abstract

In modern state, public sphere was a place where to support democratic regime and political participation of citizen on discussion of public issues, not private issues, in everyone are equal to know the information and to discuss with each other. Besides, public sphere would not be dominated or interfered by state and economic sectors which people could participate liberally. However, Nancy Fraser stated that inequality still exists in public sphere in practice. People were discriminates on ground of race, sex, nationality, religious, education etc. Thus, Fraser proposes to examine public sphere in the postmodern turn where a place to generate equality to everyone and every group. In public sphere, they have right to talk, discuss, and give their opinions, Moreover, private issues will not be excluded from public sphere as well.
