Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the level of political participation of Soldiers in Security Battalion Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, 2) compare the political participation of Soldiers in Security Battalion Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters factor according to personal factors, 3) examine the relationship between political socialization, political news perception and political participation the soldiers in Security Battalion Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. The samples composed of 281 soldiers in Security Battalion Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed by using a packaging computer program. Statistical tools employed in data analysis were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation One-Way ANOVA and Pearson Product – Moment Correlation Coefficient. The level of significance for statistical testing was 0.05. The result of this research revealed that the soldiers in Security Battalion Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters had a medium level of political participation. According to the hypothesis testing, rank, educational level, income, did not result in difference of political participation. The relationship between Political Socialization, Political news perception the soldiers in Security Battalion Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and political participation was significantly positively moderate.
