Abstract
ห้องสมุดมีบทบาทในการเป็นแหล่ง เรียนรู้และจัดหาการเข้าถึงสารสนเทศให้แก่ นักวิชาการ และผู้ที่สนใจโดยทั่วไป ห้องสมุดทำ หน้าที่ในการจัดเก็บ ค้นคืน และได้เปลี่ยนแปลง บทบาท ให้สอดคล้องกับการศึกษาและการวิจัย ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้สอดรับกับบทบาทของการเป็นแหล่ง เรียนรู้ที่มีประสิทธิภาพ บทบาทในเบื้องต้นของ ห้องสมุดจึงเป็นบทบาทในการจัดหาการบริการ สารสนเทศเพื่อสนับสนุนการศึกษา การสรรค์ สร้างวัฒนธรรม เศรษฐกิจ และการพัฒนา เทคโนโลยีเพื่อสมาชิกในชุมชน จากนโยบายการ ศึกษาแห่งชาติ กล่าวว่า ห้องสมุดเป็นส่วนสำคัญ ในการสนับสนุนการบริการด้านการศึกษา และ ทำหน้าที่เป็นสื่อกลางในการเผยแพร่สารสนเทศ ด้วยการใช้เครื่องมือสืบค้น เพื่อการพัฒนาและ สนับสนุนการบูรณาการสังคมและวัฒนธรรม
