การศึกษาการรับรู้เสียงพยัญชนะ และสระในภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชาวพม่า ชั้นปีที่ 1 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏจันทรเกษม

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับความสามารถในการรับรู้เสียงพยัญชนะต้น พยัญชนะท้าย และเสียงสระภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชาวพม่า 2) เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีอิทธิพลต่อความสามารถในการรับรู้เสียงภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชาวพม่า โดยพิจารณาอิทธิพลของระบบเสียงภาษาแม่ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักศึกษาชาวพม่า ชั้นปีที่ 1 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏจันทรเกษม จำนวน 30 คน โดยคัดเลือกแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบทดสอบการรับรู้เสียงภาษาอังกฤษ จำนวน 48 ข้อ คำศัพท์ที่ใช้ในการทดสอบพัฒนาจากคำศัพท์แบบคู่เสียง (Minimal Pairs) และแบบสัมภาษณ์กึ่งโครงสร้าง การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา (Descriptive Statistics) และเนื้อหาเชิงธีม (Thematic Analysis) ซึ่งแบบทดสอบการรับรู้เสียงมีค่า IOC เฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 0.85 และแบบสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างมีค่า IOC เฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 0.74
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักศึกษาชาวพม่ามีความสามารถในการรับรู้เสียงพยัญชนะต้น (ร้อยละ 91.1) และเสียงสระ (ร้อยละ 83.5) อยู่ในระดับสูง ในขณะที่การรับรู้เสียงพยัญชนะท้ายมีค่าเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 55.6 ซึ่งต่ำกว่าเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดร้อยละ 70 โดยพบว่าเสียงพยัญชนะท้ายที่มีปัญหามากที่สุด ได้แก่ /k/–/g/ รองลงมา คือ /p/–/b/ และ /s/–/z/ นอกจากนี้ ผลการสัมภาษณ์สะท้อนว่า ปัจจัยด้านอิทธิพลภาษาแม่ มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการรับรู้เสียงภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชาวพม่า ซึ่งนักศึกษาชาวพม่ามีแนวโน้มเชื่อมโยงเสียงภาษาอังกฤษกับระบบเสียงภาษาแม่ ดังนั้น ส่งผลให้เกิดความสับสนในการรับรู้และจำแนกเสียงในภาษาอังกฤษที่ไม่มีในระบบเสียงภาษาพม่า
