A Development of Learning Community Centers in Phabong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province

Abstract

  The purposes of this research are to study the state, problems, suggestions, and guidelines for developing of learning community centers in Phabong Sub-District Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province. The mixed-method was used in this research. The quantitative method collected data from the 380 samples who live in the learning community centers in Phabong Sub-District, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province. The data was collected via questionnaires and then was analyzed by the statistical methods of frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research used qualitative methods for data collection with participatory research; observation and focused group-interview with sub-district headman, village headman, community leaders, learning center administrators, Sub-District Administrative Organization Chief executive, and Sub-District Administrative Organization officers; 18 in the total and then was analyzed by the content analysis.
  It found that overall the development of learning community centers in Phabong Sub-District Administrative Organization was at a low level. When considered in descending order by the average of the most to the least found that; the participation aspect was at a low level, the promotion of knowledge aspect was at a low level, and the public relations aspect was at the lowest level, respectively. The problems were as follows: learning community centers had shortage of budget, did not get further knowledge of each source, and had shortage of public relations. The suggestions were as follows: should support sufficient budget, should provide the training course and study tour at the success learning community centers, and should provide video or CD.
