Stepfather, the Unconditional Role of Fatherhood in Yai Noo Luk Por Novel by Botan

Abstract

  This article intended to analyze the role of step father in novel of Yai Noo Luk Por by Bo Tun, with the psychology theories. Analysis was focused on characters and content in the novel, and description. The research results showed that behaviors of step father were divided into five roles such as the good head of family: father was sacrifice. The good model: father was the idol for family showing the family how the way of life was. The good husband: he respected his wife; and he did not speak rude or insult his wife. The good civilian: he was good moral character. The good father role: warmness and kindness that father gave to the children. All roles and behaviors reflected a recurring role, a role that society expects everyone to follow a parent. Although he was not the biogenetic father, he would love and raise children to be good for society.
