A Model of School Administrators’ Competency Development in the Upper Northern Thailand

Abstract
The purposes of this dissertation aimed to investigate the current management and requirement for the development of school administrators’ competency in the upper northern Thailand, as well as to develop the model of school administrators’ competence development in the upper northern Thailand. For research methodology, a questionnaire related to the current management and requirement for the development of school administrators’ competency in the upper northern Thailand, which was approved by the five educational experts, was conducted with 346 school directors; moreover, the data were statistically analyzed using Frequency Distribution, Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation. Also, a focus group discussion was carried out with eight school administrators and involved participants, and the data analysis was presented with the descriptive technique.
The research findings revealed that the current management and requirement for the school administrators’ competency development in the upper northern Thailand were mostly found. In addition, the model of the school administrators’ competency development in the upper northern Thailand was divided into five aspects: 1) the rationale of the model; 2) the objectives of the model; 3) the main points of the model; 4) guidelines for model implication, and 5) terms of the model.
