Guidelines on the prevention of becoming to urban poverty of freelancer workers in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract
The research focuses on the guidelines for preventing of becoming to urban poverty of freelancer workers in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It is a qualitative research study that utilizes research methodology and content analysis to present the practices of freelance workers and the guidelines for preventing of becoming to urban poverty of freelancer workers under the New Normal in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. The research findings indicate that the status of freelance workers can be divided into two groups: stable freelance workers and vulnerable freelance workers. The indicators of the status of freelance workers include negotiation power. Freelance workers utilize economic, social, cultural, and symbolic capital to exert negotiation power with employers. This occurs during the transition into the New Normal and in the struggle against the structures of inequality that lead to urban poverty. Therefore, this research aims to present freelance workers as active social actors through practices of resistance and negotiation to prevent them from falling into urban poverty. It also provides appropriate strategies for promoting and preventing the transition into urban poverty of freelance workers under in Muang District, Chiang Mai Province.
