Guidelines for Digital Technology Competency Developing of Teacher Students in Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research report aims to 1) Study the current state, expectations, and analysis of the needs index of development of Digital technology competency and 2) synthesize guidelines for digital technology competency development of teacher students. The target group for this study was 50 teacher Students of the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University from years 1 to 3, who serve as leaders and deputy leaders of all study groups. Among the population was 1,000 undergraduate students of the Faculty of Education. They were selected by purposive sampling. Research tools including 1) The current state, expectations, and analysis of the needs index of development of Digital technology competency Assessment Form and 2) The development guidelines digital technology competency components synthesis table. Data analysis and data present average, standard deviation, and Priority Needs Index. The results showed that 1. The study results of the current state, expectations, and analysis of the needs index of development of Digital technology competency found that the current state level was at a high level, with expectations also at the highest level. The results of the needs index of development of Digital technology competency showed that competency 5: use of digital technology in teaching had the highest score (PNI_Modified = 0.23). 2. Responding to synthesize  the guidelines for developing digital technology competency of teacher students, including 8 elements: 1. Creating a collaborative network in digital technology. 2. Following up on the results of using digital technology. 3. Organizing activities to develop digital technology skills. 4. Enhancing knowledge of the use of digital technology in teaching and learning. 5. Developing oneself and the organization. 6. Studying the policy of the parent agency and using it to set strategies. 7. Following the news and being a role model in applying digital technology in teaching and everyday life. 8. Allocating budget and providing materials, equipment, and learning resources for digital technology.
